Top handy wedding tips & tricks

When planning your wedding, there are many little tips and tricks for before, during and after the wedding to make everything run smoothly. Here at Charles Class we have compiled together our top handy wedding tips & tricks list.

If you would like to add your own handy tip or trick to help others, we would love to hear from you so just comment below and we will add to the list.

Hashtags

Hashtags are a great way to see all of your wedding guest pictures in one go so create a unique hashtag for your wedding guests to use and tag all of your pictures.

Number your invites

Many people forget to complete their name when responding to an RSVP invite so place a number next to each guest on your list and then write the number on the back of the invite so if they forget, you still know who replied.

Create a Vision Board

If you are starting to become a bit overwhelmed on how you would like to style your wedding, the colours, the theme etc, make it easier by creating a vision board on Pinterest and add all the things you and your partner like. When you start to build a portfolio of pictures, the vision starts to become reality and the more you add, the more you will become inspired on the style of wedding you both want. Instagram is also a great place for inspirational photo's.

Wedding email account

Set up a wedding email account. This is really handy to give this email address to all of your wedding suppliers so you have everything in one place.

Ask for help

Enlist somebody from your wedding party eg maid of honour or best man to handle all of the supplier payments who require payment on the day eg DJ, wedding decor etc. That way, you are not worrying about money and can spend your special day stress-free.

Supplier Lists

Print out a list of suppliers and their contact numbers and give a copy to your bridesmaid or groomsman so they have all the contact details if there’s an emergency or if someone gets lost and needs directions.

Children's Daytime Table

To keep the children occupied during speeches, dress up their table and provide children's activity packs / boxes, goody bags with age-appropriate treats, activity place mat etc. Why not create a Scavenger Hunt for them where the children have a checklist to find items or people like somebody in a blue dress, a funny hat, a shirt with stripes, somebody laughing etc.

Evening Entertainment for Children

To keep children entertained during the evening, see if your venue has a separate room, arrange for a babysitter / adult supervision to play games with them, watch films or oversee their own little kids dance party. You can also set up a few tables and have an arts-and-crafts corner.

Table Songs

To get your evening reception in full spirit, create a song name or lyric for each table (give the list to the DJ). When the DJ plays their song, the whole table has to get up and dance.

Bathroom Emergency Kits

Create a bathroom kit for your venue to keep all the ladies happy: deodorant, perfume, body spray, hair pins, hairspray, stain product removers, feminine products.

Drink Coasters

Drink coasters are a fun way of making sure drinks are not cleared from the tables while your guests are enjoying themselves on the dance floor – they can also take them home as favours.

Something Old

As a gift to your flower girl, give her an inscribed handkerchief for when she needs something old on her wedding day. You can also take a picture of your flower girl wearing your wedding shoes and then give it to her on her wedding day as your gift.
